In October each year the club sponors a train show and sale in Eau Claire. It has been held at various locations over the years, e.g., North High School, Memorial High School, Regis High School, and most recently the Eau Claire Indoor Sports Center. Many layouts from regional clubs and individuals have been on display. Scales range from Z to G and standard gauge. Lots of vendors are also present with good deals on model railroad and related items. The purpose is to share the hobby and provide good entertainment for kids of all ages.
IMRC co-sponsors a one day outdoor show called Steaming by the Water located at Phoenix Part in Eau Claire, Wi.
Helping with a show is a good opportunity to have fun together and get to know fellow members better and of course run some trains.
We also display our club layouts at various shows from Green Bay to Souix Falls. This year we will be porting our portable layout to Trainfest in Milwaukee, one of the largest shows in the country.
Some members have their own layouts or participate in other groups that have layouts to display at shows. These include the Etrick and Northern, the Chippewa Valley Garden Railroaders, the Standard Gauge Module association, the Chippewa Valley N-Gineers and others.
