There are remains of the station in Macroom - it's grounds are part of the bus station and the remaming station building sells animal feed. The main road at this point is still named Railway View. The course of the line called be seen behind the town.g the town and gradually running into Carrigadrohid reservoir. From a picnic site on the Cork side of town a path leads down to the trackbed which can be followed for a while as it runs into Carrigadrohid reservoir. This can make for a very pleasant or unpleasant walk dependong on the water level but eventually you have to trun back. A large part of the route is permanantly under the water and it reappears 4 miles out and can be seen running parallel to the road at Lissarda where there seem to be station buildings. East of Lissarda there seems to be an unnecessary bridge over the Railway at the Crookstown Road but beyond here most of the line has been reclaimed as farmland. There is a pleasant stetch to the south of Aherla which makes for a very easy and restful walk and for about a mile west of Kilumney the line is just to the south side of the road. There is a tunnel entrance where it crossed the road. Much of the route approaching Cork has now been paved over as part of the Ballincolling by-pass.
