Sunday July 10, 1960 CNR 6167 Excursion

On Sunday July 10, 1960,  CNR 6167 pulled her very first excursion, sponsored by the Upper Canada Railway Society from Toronto, Ontario to Niagara Falls, Ontario and Return. Upon arrival at Niagara Falls, passengers had the opportunity to visit the Falls. I've been told that one runpast was done on the Bridge over the Grand River in Caledonia, before returning to Caledonia and taking the wye onto the Dunnville Sub, while a photo stop was done at Canfield Junction. I've also been told that at some point along the way to Niagara Falls, 6167 ran out of water and a water truck had to be called in. As the train pulled out of Hamilton Station, 6167 double-headed with CNR GP9 #4563 along Ferguson Ave.

Thanks to Don McQueen for supplying me with the flyer for this excursion and sharing his own notes; Dave Speigelman for his comments on the trip; and Jim Parker, Brian Switzer and Ken Jones for providing photos of the trip.
