Sunday April 16, 1961 CNR 6167 Excursion
On Sunday April 16, 1961, CNR 6167 pulled her first
excursion of 1961, sponsored by the York Locomotive Preservation Society from Toronto to Washago and Return.
I am uncertain as to which route the train took when going North, however I would suspect that the train went North up the Newmarket Sub to Washage. The Southbound leg of the trip traversed over the Bala Sub to Toronto as evidenced by the photo taken at Zephyr. Also worth noting is that part of the July 17, 1960 Buffalo & Rochester NRHS excursion traveled from Toronto to Zephyr.
Thanks to Rob Burnet for supplying me a with flyer for this excursion.
