On Sunday September 30, 1962, CNR 6167 pulled an excursion sponsored by the Upper Canada Railway
Society from Toronto to St. Thomas and Return. While running along Ferguson Ave
from Hamilton to Rymal, the train triple-headed with MLW RS3's CN 3004 and CN

![]() STEAM EXCURSION To ST.THOMAS, ONT. SUNDAY, SEPT. 30
SPONSORED BY This may be the last of 6167... YES, the CN's famous Northern Type may be put to the torch soon, and this could be its last trip out of Toronto. Take this opportunity to see, hear and photograph 6167 in action. Continuing this year's highly successful series of railway excursions, the UCRS Special will travel down to St. Thomas this time, with 5 run-pasts and photo stops for the photo fans on board. All the other amenities will be laid on, too: baggage car with open doors, so you can get "right up close", 110-volt power for tape recorders, cafe car to keep our inner fires stoked up, and open-window coach for the aficionado of sight, sound and smoke. And if you don't mind "roughing it" but draw the line at bodily discomfort, you can ride the smoothest, quietest, most comfortable coaches that ever burnished a rail. Cool, man (like, air-conditioned.)
Good family fun, too. Bring the kids - - they'll enjoy it! SUNDAY, SEPT. 30

"A pair of RS3's are assisting CNR
Northern 6167 up Ferguson Avenue in Hamilton, ON on their way south on the
Hagersville Sub with an excursion. The diesels will cut off at Rymal at the top
of the Niagara escarpment. Interesting street running back then as this line is
now gone."
