Sunday January 27, 1963 CNR 6167 Excursion

On Sunday January 27, 1963, CNR 6167 pulled an excursion sponsored by the Upper Canada Railway Society from Toronto to Orillia and Return. According to Don McQueen's notes, the trip ran from Toronto-Beaverton-Washago-Orillia-Barrie-Toronto. He also states that the consist included CN Solarium-Lounge Fort Lennox, four Bedrooms, and a Cafeteria Car. Don also sent me a scan of the brochure for the trip.

Toronto to Orillia

Saved from the scrapper's torch for one more year, CN's 6167 is to be put to good use on our next excursion, on Sunday, January 27th, 1963. The route to be followed covers 190 miles of track on two different subdivisions that circle Lake Simcoe affording many scenic locations as the settings for action-packed run-pasts. STEAM and SNOW, enjoyed by so many on our mid winter trip last year, is a combination guaranteed to produce new and different photos for your collection.

Special Features

At least five (and perhaps more) photo run-pasts have been planned for your enjoyment. the train equipment will include facilities for tape recording and a cafeteria car will be serving hot food and refreshments throughout the day.
