Sunday, May 19, 1963 CNR 6167 Excursion On Sunday May 19, 1963, CNR 6167 pulled an excursion sponsored by the Buffalo and Rochester Chapters of the National Railway Historical Society from Fort Erie to Paris and Return. Dave Spiegelman tells me that 6167 was removed in Brantford. Doug Wells has provided me with a flyer for this trip.

Sunday, May 19, 1963 PLAN OF OPERATION: STEAM POWERED Special Train will leave Fort Erie, Ont., CNR Station, and proceed via the Dunnville Subdivision through Port Colborne and Canfield to Caledonia, thence via the Hagersville Sub. through Rymal, and down from the top of the high Niagara Escarpment and through the streets of Hamilton and on to the CNR Station. Leaving Hamilton via the Oakville and Dundas Subdivisions, the train will proceed up Dundas Hill and on to Brantford, Paris and Paris Junction. At Paris Jct., the special will be turned on the wye for the return trip via Brantford and on the Dunnville Sub., through Caledonia, Dunnville and Ridgeway to Ft. Erie. CNR Steam Locomotive 6167, a Northern type 4-8-4, will be used, so bring your cameras to take pictures of her and the scenic beauty of the trip. Busses will provide direct connections to trainside at Fort Erie from Rochester and Jamestown. PHOTO RUN-PASTS: At least four photo run-pasts will be made, two over railroad trestles, and there will be ample opportunities for photography at stops for the servicing of the steam locomotive. For photographic, and sound recording purposes there will be a baggage car immediately behind the locomotive with protective bars across the doors, and the first coach will be one that is NOT Air-conditioned, and the windows may be opened. The coaches and dining cars following will be Air-conditioned. MEALS: Full-sized CNR Diners will be provided for meal service throughout the entire trip. Breakfasts will be served leaving Fort Erie, then excellent CNR, full-course dinners will be served for the remainder of the trip. You MUST indicate on the Reservation Coupon the number of meals desired on the Diner.- pay for meals on the train- If you so desire you may bring your own food.
NOTE: Bus transportation between Buffalo and Fort Erie leaves from Niagara St., and Porter Ave., at 8:45 A.M. for the CNR Station. Please indicate on Reservation Coupon if you desire this service costing $1.00 per person for the round trip. For those driving there is plenty of parking space at the CNR Sta. on Bridge St. near the International Railway Bridge. ROCHESTER PASSENGERS: Buses provided between Rochester and Fort Erie, leaving Trailways Bus Terminal at Midtown Plaza, Broad near Chestnut St., at 7:30 A.M.
