The train stopped in London for servicing, was turned and watered at Paris, where it also did a run-past over the Grand River Bridge. Thanks to Dan Glenney for the Woodstock Sentinel Review article, and Ed Johnson for his photos and notes on the trip.

Routing
The hands of time were turned back over 20 years in Woodstock Saturday.
At 1:30 PM between 30 to 40 persons, most
of them children, stood on the Canadian National Railway
platform to watch as a 1940 vintage steam engine hurtled past in an angry
burst of black smoke and hissing steam. It was a wonder into time. Small eyes that know the shape
of jets, rockets and satellites grew round in
wonder when the 6171 came in sight. Camera buffs had only one chance to take pictures.
The engine stopped just long enough to pick up orders. Then to a screech of
sand under slipping drivers and a staccato huff-huff it drew into
the distance. The Windsor -to- Paris return-trip excursion, was sponsored by the Michigan
Railroad Club.Windsor to Glencoe via the Chatham Sub Glencoe to Komoka via the Longwood Sub Komoka to London via the Strathroy Sub London to Paris via the Dundas Sub Paris to Stratford via the Drumbo Sub Stratford to London Junction via the Thorndale Sub London Junction to London via the Dundas Sub London to Komoka via the Strathroy Sub Komoka to Glencoe via the Longwood Sub Glencoe to Windsor via the Chatham Sub
Smoke, Steam Recall Past The locomotive, a 4-8-4 "Northern" type, built. for the CNR by Montreal Locomotive Works in 1940, is still capable of 80 mph speeds permitted on, much of the CNR's main line track. Since dieselization of the railway was completed in 1959, she has been assigned to excursions in the Toronto area. Some of the rail enthusiasts came from as far as Chicago, Cincinnati, New York and Philadelphia to catch a ride."
