Saturday June 20, 1964 CNR 6167 Excursion
Don McQueen has also provided a great deal of information about this excursion. The consist included: BE 9166, PB 5113, 5162, 5086, 5101, Café 424, PB 5203, 5083, 119, CN Mountain Observation 15097 and UCRS PV NOVA SCOTIA. The train returned to Toronto as Passenger Extra 6703 West and was hauled by two diesels, the lead unit being CLC CPA16-5). Don also provided me with a brochure for this trip.
Steam Train Excursion
Take a steam engine, an unusual train consist, and a sunny summer's day, add them all together, and you have the makings of a fun-filled day. C.N.'s famous Northern, 6167, will be making one of its last trips as it hauls our train along the scenic branch line that links Lindsay, Peterborough and Belleville. And an interesting train it will be, including in its consist an open baggage car (with 110 volt outlets for tape recorders, open windowed coach, air conditioned coaches with snack bars, and a cafe car serving delicious, inexpensive meals throughout the day. Highlighting the train will be the use of a rare open mountain observation car and the Society's own car "Nova
Scotia"!
