In September 2002, Guelphs City Council passed a motion to the effect that $250,000 would be allocated towards the cosmetic restoration of the 6167. At the same time, the Restoration Committee was formed to oversee the project. A business plan was developed and it was found that the cost of the restoration would be approximately $400,000. To try and overcome this shortfall, the committee has undertaken several fundraising projects outlined below. Limited Edition Prints We have commissioned well known artist Larry Fisher to produce a painting of the locomotive. Titled "Guelph Welcomes 6167", the painting portrays the 6167 pulling into the Guelph station while pulling an excursion train in the early 1960's. A series of 500 numbered prints have been made. At this moment, there are only 3 or 4 prints left of the first 100. Once those have been sold, we will take the remaining paintings into stock, which are numbered 100 and up. If you would like to purchase one of the first hundred, now is the time to do it. We've also still have the original painting up for sale. Price List (In Canadian Dollars) ![]() Number Plate Buttons A while back, I made a 3D CAD drawing of 6167's original number plate. The committe then used my drawing as the basis for our buttons (which measure 2 3/4" wide by 1 3/4" high). These can be purchased from the Guelph Civic Musuem and from the Restoration Committee at various events. George's Trains in Toronto also sells them and I suspect that other hobby shops in Ontario may also be selling buttons on the Committee's behalf.

Skip The Middle Man Lately, I have encountered several instances of people trying to sell 6167 memorbilia second hand (often at an inflated price). When you purchase these items you should be aware of the fact that the Committee doesn't see a cent of that money. Sooner or later we may start selling through eBay and chances are the seller will be "joe6167", however if anyone else is selling on behalf of the committee, I will mention it here. I have also heard of people trying to sell prints second hand too, however they weren't as nicely framed as the ones supplied by the committee.
