Restoration Journal - July 18, 2008 Asbestos Abatement Begins! Photos by Grant Kingsland Once the volunteers were done preparing the locomotive for the Asbestos contractor took over the site. Their first course of action was to label all of the different sections of boiler jacket so that once it was off, we could assemble it on the ground and use it as a pattern for a new jacket. This happened at some point around mid-July.
The scaffolding went up around the middle of August.
By the end of August the tarp was up (and presemably the abatement was underway)
