Work On 6167 Concludes For The Year

November 9 marked our last work date of the year, and among other things, saw the installation of the remainder of 6167's air line piping on the right side of the locomotive. Earlier this summer we also recieved the vinyl decals for the heralds and lettering to be applied to the tender and cab.

Welcome to the unofficial website for the Restoration of CNR 6167 in Guelph, Ontario. I am a volunteer with 6167 Restoration Committee, and have been involved with the project from its very beginnings in 2002. I have set up this website to document the history of CNR 6167 as well as its ongoing restoration. I also use this site to share all that I have learned about the art of restoring steam locomotives, as well as my research into the history of the various forms of motive power employed by the Canadian National Railways. The Main sections of this site are as follows:

Canadian National Railways 6167
This section contains all of the articles I have written about the locomotive's history as well as detailed mechanical information. These pages contain a great deal of information of interest to preservationists, collectors, railfans and modelers, and are all accompanied by many photographs.

Restoration Journal
My restoration journal chronicles the ongoing cosmetic restoration of CNR 6167, in addition to various other projects that I am occasionally involved with, most notably CNR 6213 now located at the John Street Roundhouse.

CNR Motive Power Statistics
I have compiled a good deal of statistical information concerning CNR motive power, most notably, an all time CNR steam locomotive roster, as well as information detailing locomotive assignments at various points in time.
