Restoration Journal - March 31, 2007 Inspecting 6167 A visit to the 6167 on March 31 revealed that the tender is in very poor condition as a result of 40 years of absolutely no maintenance. The stoker trough was full of debris and water, while the sides of the bunker have rusted through in several places. The vestibule has also deteriorated quite badly. Also, we removed the inspection plate on the stoker elevating pipe inside the cab only to discover that CN never bothered to clean out the stoker screw when the engine was retired. As you can see the damage is extensive and repairs are expensive. If you would like to make a contribution to the restoration, click here for information.
