Restoration Journal - August 10, 2008 Live Steam Party Photos by Grant Kingsland On August 10, some of the committee members crashed Ted McJannets's Steam party and had their own celebration of sorts, in light of all the work that had been done on the 6167 up to that point. There is a reason I'm writing about this, and that is the fact the Ted's Live Steam Royal Hudson (CPR 2860) was actually being powered by some of the coal that we had liberated from 6167's stoker conveyor. By all accounts, the coal burned good, produced plenty of heat, and most importantly, smelled good! ![]() Ted McJannet's Live Steam Royal Hudson

A tender full of genuine 6167 coal! Note how the coal is covered in rust from being stuck in the stoker conveyor for 44 years. |
