Stan Kistler Photo, 2606, from Head End Cars.

ATSF Photo, 2602
These models are based on Santa Fe Rider cars 2602-08. 2602 is now at the Orange Empire Museum in Perris, CA. This car was not a Railway Post Office car, therefore the US Mail is incorrect marking. This car and its sisters worked exclusively on the Fast Mail #7/8. They were never air conditioned. The windows were divided into an upper and lower portion. At some point, probably in the early 1950s, the upper portion was plated over as in the Kistler photo above. They received roller bearing trucks later in life.
Minor work can make this into a highly detailed car.
