If you are computer savvy use your computer to reserve on line at Amtrak.com
Call Amtrak 1-800-USA-RAIL and use the touch tone service or,
Call Amtrak 1-800-USA-RAIL and press #0 to speak to the agent.
Do the #0 option and request to advance pay your reservation to insure the hold limit up to train time
Visit or call your local AAA or travel agent office
Stop at any one of Amtrak's ticket
offices nationwide
A note about unreserved tickets: Unreserved tickets show the
origin and destination of travel but do not promise a seat on any
specific train.
The best assurance for optaining a seat is to reserve on the specific trains you will be using. There is no cost to reserving ahead.
The advance payment reservation will lock your reservation until departure time.
In the rare instance that your reserved accomodation is "oversold" or if the coach is "shopped", the conductor will provide the refund form for the accomodation.
