June is Busting Out All Over
The summer season is upon us and LILS is off to a good start. So far, the rain has conveniently fallen on the "other" weekends and our guests have enjoyed some fine weather for riding the trains.
Our new switch tower and car barn have provoked an occasional, "I didn't see that last time, Daddy," remarks. And the tests of the new highline riding cars have gotten their share of attention, too.
Our work crews have been busy replacing ties and smoothing the track as well as putting the signal system back in order following some broken connections over the winter.
We are still looking for a few (or even a whole lot of) new members interested in working on the railroad. If you have ever wondered how a real railroad is maintained and operated, now's the time to get involved with LILS. Just come on down and chat with a member or drop us an email. We'd love to hear from you.
