Disasters

The following informations are not NBEC related, but come from when CN was still running the railroads in Northern New Brunswick. I felt like I should include this section, as it constitues a part of pre-NBEC history.

On March 9th 1987, a runaway ore train from Brunswick Mines would derail at the Nepisiguit wye. Here are links to this event, including a link to the official recording of the event.

The recording is something that everyone has to listen to. I still shiver every time I hear it.

Runaway - A great site about this event.
