A sketch of the twelve-section modular layout.

• LGB track requirements are tabulated here.
• Note the 1600 radius track is too large to use at the Visitors Center display (shown on next photo page).
• Although we refer to this as a "modular" layout, technically-speaking, it is really a "portable" layout and not a modular layout, because we always put the sections together in the same locations.

As the above sign implies, the Loose Ties gave away a free train set to a lucky child in 2000, as they also did in 1999. 

• The below photos show the modules after they were rebuilt in mid-2000. They were rebuilt by relocating some of the tracks, as shown in the below photos.
• More specifically, the S-gauge track was moved to the inside and elevated, and the HO track was removed. All HO track is now on the separate brown-colored modules, which fit inside the main modules.

Note: The following pictures are in order as you would see the modules if you walked around them in a clockwise direction. Numbers refer to the numbers on the sketch at the top of the page.

Photo 3 - Looking at the west side of the layout at the southwest corner, modules 2 thru 6.

From the above photo, looking from left to right, you can see the G-gauge on the floor, two loops of O-gauge on the table, one loop of S-gauge on the elevated track, and one loop of HO-guage on the inside brown-colored modules.
