New Frederick Extension
MARC Service to Extend to Fredrick, MD
According to the September, 1996, issue of Trains magazine, MARC has
received $9.8 million in federal funding to acquire and improve the old
B&O right-of-way between Point of Rocks, MD, and Frederick. The 13 1/2
miles of track are currently owned by CSX, and MARC hopes to extend
commuter service from the Brunswick Line to Frederick.
