The "Blizzard Bus" is a former Chicago & North Western gallery commuter coach in service on the Union Pacific out of Portland, Ore. It is used to transport UP train crews through the Columbia River Basin and the Blue Mountains in northeastern Oregon when winter weather shuts down adjacent highways. The car and an accompanying equipment boxcar are shown on Jan. 10, 2022 at the Fir passing siding in northeast Portland on its way back to its home base of Albina Yard.
