(Picture: #46) McCloud, CA, 5/2003. This #1713 is the kitchen car where all meals for the Shasta Sunset Dinner Train are prepared. This car was converted from a standard 62-foot long bulkhead flatcar, specifically ex-Northwestern Oklahoma Railroad #21203. The conversion was completed by the McCloud shops in the first half of 1997. The car was heavily damaged by fire in the later part of 2002, but was quickly re-built. |
