Membership in the Metro East Model Railroad Club is open to all interested teenagers and adults. Adult membership is open to anyone 17 or older and junior membership is open to anyone between 13 and 17 who is sponsored by an adult member. Membership dues for adults are $5.00 per month plus a $20.00 one time initiation fee. Junior membership dues are $2.50 per month plus a $10.00 one time initiation fee. Prospective members (junior and adult) are expected to participate in at least two regular work sessions prior to being voted in as a member at the next business meeting.

The Metro East Model Railroad Club holds meetings every Thursday night. A business meeting is held the first Thursday of each month. The second and fourth Thursday's are work nights, with the third being an operating session. Business meetings are held in the Glen Carbon Library while all other meetings are held in the club house.
