Who We Are

We are a group of O scale model railroaders from the western suburbs of Boston. Mostly, we model in 2 rail O scale, but we do have some members who have hi-rail equipment. (hi-rail is 3 rail O scale, built to scale dimensions). Several of our members are also interested in narrow gauge, both On3 and On30.

We sponsor an annual O scale Train show held in Hudson, MA, every April. Click here for more info.

We meet once a month at the home of one of our members. It is usually in the same location, but different members can take turns hosting a meeting. Several members have basement O scale layouts.

The club is building a 39' x 16' sectional layout in our clubhouse in Clinton, MA. This layout is comprised of 4 straight sections on each side, and 12 curved sections. The new layout is composed of two separate main lines. One side of the layout is a passenger station scene, and the other side is an industrial switching area. The layout takes about 2 hours to set up with the help of 5 or 6 people working steadily. This layout is complete enough that we have exhibited it at the annual NMRA HUB division show in Marlboro, MA.

Currently we have this layout setup so the outside loop uses standard DC power, and the inside loop uses DCC. We use an NCE system with both radio and tethered controllers.

This layout will be expandable, allowing newer modules, or modules built by individual club members, to make a larger layout. There are several club members who have, or are currently building, modules which interface with this layout.

We have two different levels of Membership:

Full Membership is $120.00 dollars per year or $60.00 for 6 months. Full Membership privileges include
- Running your trains on the layout whenever you want.
- Access to the layout for modeling improvements, make your own ideas realized
- Visit the layout with your friends (potential members?)
- Receive the club newsletter. This includes show info, railroad operations, and schedule for club activities
- full voting rights and can be club officers
Associate Membership is $60.00 dollars per year or $30.00 for 6 months. Associate Membership privileges include
- Visiting the layout with a Full Member
- Receive the club newsletter. This includes show info, railroad operations, and schedule for club activities
- no voting rights and cannot be officers
