"N" Class
The "N" Class locomotive was built by Clyde Engineering in the mid 80's. It's power is 2510hp. This locomotive was intended primarily to run passenger trains. 10 'N' class locomotives where ordered as all of the 'B' class locomotives where to be upgraded to 'A' class. The 'A' class scheme was scrapped after 11 'B' class locomotives were upgraded and another 15 'N' class locomotives where ordered. The original "V/Line" 'tangerine' paint scheme was eventually replaced with several slight variations of the "V/Line Passenger" 'blue, red and white' scheme.

"P" Class
The "P" Class locomotives were originally "1st Series T Class" locomotives built by Clyde Engineering. The locomotives were rebuilt, wheel base modified, cab modified and painted into "V'Line's tangerine livery" in the mid 80's, then put back into service.

pass hit S316 goods train at Violet Town. Apparently the driver suffered a heart attack and the
fireman was 'making a cuppa' at the rear of the locomotive. Both locomotives suffered extensive
