I just finished faxing the White House with my
displeasure at how the Bush Administration is handling the Amtrak
Financial Crisis. I suggest you do the same. Lets make certain
the FAX runs out of paper frequently over the next
few days. Lets make sure that the President hears nothing but
SAVE AMTRAK until the final hour. I tried the comment
line but it is just a 9 to 5 number.

Write Your Elected Officials
Please tell your elected officials how you have taken Amtrak
trips for pleasure and business. Please state how passenger train
travel – unlike the cattle-car airline service – is a
comfortable and relaxing alternative to the increasingly crowded
Interstate highway system and delay-plagued air travel system.
Please urge our leaders to fix– not destroy- America’s
passenger rail system. Please work to provide funding for a
system that better serves the need of the traveling public.
