Welcome to Northern Ohio Railway Museum

Thank you for your interest in Northern Ohio Railway Museum. The Museum is located at 5515 Buffham Road in Seville, Ohio (near Chippewa Lake). Here, on two miles of the historic Cleveland Southwestern Railway, the Museum is pursuing its mission to collect, preserve, restore, display and operate streetcars and other railway equipment for the education and entertainment of the public. Over forty streetcars, interurbans, rapid transit cars and other rolling stock have been collected. Most of this equipment is either operable or will be restored for operation on our three mile demonstration railroad. The Museum is open to the public for walking tours from 10 am to 4 pm Saturdays, mid-May through October. Admission is free, donations are requested. Visit our  Directions to the Museum  page for maps and directions and visit our  Museum Events  page for a full schedule.

Join us for a journey through Electric Railway History.

To accomplish its goals the Museum needs your support. You can help in several ways:
  • Make a financial contribution. Northern Ohio Railway Museum is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, Ohio corporation. The generous contributions of individuals and corporations have brought the Museum to where it is today. Your support is needed to keep the Museum operating and planning for the future. To learn about how you can contribute to our Carbarn Fund, General Fund or Endowment Fund please visit our  Museum Information  page.

Help make it possible for Future Generations to learn about Northern Ohio's Interurban Heritage first hand.

  • Make a purchase from the Museum Store. The store is located in the Pennsylvania Railroad box car in our McCarthy Carhouse. The Museum Store stocks the latest books as well as many out of print and hard to find items. Please visit our : Museum Store  page to see our full catalog.
  • Join the Museum as a member. You will be joining with over 180 men and women who are voluntarily building, maintaining, operating and managing the railway museum. Your membership will entitle you and your immediate family to admission to all activities at the museum, reduced fare on fan trips and more. Visit our  Membership  page for more information.
  • Become a volunteer. The key to the success of Northern Ohio Railway Museum is the dedication of its volunteers. The Museum is always looking for new volunteers, there are many opportunities awaiting you. Whether you volunteer for one day a month or several hours a week, your skills and efforts will help the Museum to achieve its goals of preserving Ohio's trolley heritage. If you would like to volunteer please contact the Museum at 330-769-5501 or at the E-mail links at the bottom of this page and we can set up a time to show you around - or just show up on any Saturday from Spring through Fall.

Volunteers of all skills and skill levels are welcome.
