Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority

Operators of Cleveland's transit system. Cleveland operates a heavy rail line to the Airport (Red Line), and Light Rail on the former Shaker Heights Lines.

Midwest Railway Preservation Society

Several NORM members are also members of the MRPS.

Norfolk Southern Corporation

Operators of the Norfolk Southern Railroad System, or NS for short.

Old Pueblo Trolley

OPT Operates historic electric streetcars along University Blvd. & 4th Avenue in Tucson Arizona.


Fort Smith Trolley Museum

Part of a historical center. There is a virtual museum on their web site.


Western Railway Museum

This large museum is located near the SF Bay Area. They have everything from trolleys to steam locomotives.


San Francisco Cable Car Museum

This is a working museum, here the cable machinery is clearly seen that propels the cable cars up the famous hills.


The Orange Empire Railway Museum

This a large museum of electric, diesel and steam in Perris CA near LA. They have everything from trolleys to steam locomotives.


San Jose Historic Trolleys

Their cars operate on San Jose's light rail line through downtown.


San Francisco Railway Museum

The group that supports the historic streetcars operating on the F-Market Line in San Francisco.


California Trolley and Railroad Corporation

They operate the trolleys at the San Jose Historical Museum (Kelley Park). They are also restoring an SP Baldwin steamer. See the above link for San Jose Trolleys as well.


Travel Town

This transportation museum is located within Griffith Park in Los Angeles.


Fort Collins Municipal Railway

A group that runs original Birney cars on a portion of the original Fort Collins right-of-way.


Denver Rail Heritage Society

Operators of the Platte River Trolley in Denver.


The Connecticut Trolley Museum

Located in East Windsor CT, between Hartford and Springfield. Also known as Warehouse Point.


Shoreline Trolley Museum

This large traction/transit museum is located near New Haven, CT. The museum has also been called Branford.

Illinois Railway Museum

One of the largest traction/transit/railroad museums in the US. It is based out of Union, IL near Chicago.


Fox River Trolley Museum

This Museum located west of Chicago has interurbans, trolley cars and "L" cars.


The Seashore Trolley Museum

This it probably the largest traction museum in the US. They are located in Kennebunkport Maine.


The Walker Transportation Collection

They have the "Most comprehensive collection of New England Transportation material", located in Beverly, Mass.


The Shelburne Falls Trolley Museum

This is a museum group near Springfield, Mass. The have restored and now operate former Shelburne Falls Combine # 10.


Lowell National Historical Park

This living museum includes replica streetcars in operation.


Baltimore Streetcar Museum

Baltimore's former transit operator saved virtually one of every car class that they ever operated, leaving this museum with a great interpretation of Baltimore's transit history.


National Capital Trolley Museum

The streetcar museum near Washington DC in Wheaton Maryland.


The Minnesota Streetcar Museum

The museum operates historic Minnesota streetcars at the Como-Harriet Streetcar Line in Minneapolis and the Excelsior Streetcar Line in Excelsior.


The Trolley Museum of New York

Located in Kingston along the Hudson River. They operate several trolley cars and host local events.


New York Transit Museum

If you love historic subway cars, this is the place to go. It's even in a former Subway Station in Brooklyn.


Charlotte Trolley Museum

The group is working to bring vintage trolleys back to Charlotte.

The Electric City Trolley MuseumAssociation

A volunteer non-profit group that supports the activities of the Electric City Trolley Museum in downtown Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA, at the Steamtown National Historic Site.


Pennsylvania Trolley Museum

This large group is located near the Steel City of Pittsburgh feature PA Broad Gauge traction equipment.


Rockhill Trolley Museum

This museum is located next to the famous East Broad Top Railroad.


Memphis Area Transit Authority

This line operates restored vintage trolleys on three routes in downtown Memphis.


El Paso Streetcar

This group is trying to bring back streetcars to El Paso.


McKinney Avenue Transit Authority

Operates restored streetcars along original streetcar tracks on Dallas's McKinney Ave.

A former Interurban operation that has been preserved and still carries freight as well as being a museum!

Group is dedicated to preserving BC's transit heritage.

They are operated by the Ontario Electric Railway Historical Association near Toronto.

This museum in Old Sacramento features restored railroad equipment, educational displays and a live steam railroad.


Feather River Rail Society

This museum preserves the history of the Western Pacific Railroad. You can even rent a locomotive and be its engineer.


Pacific Southwest Railway Museum

This museum features displays of Pacific Southwest Railroad History and offers rides on their excusion train, the 'Golden State'.


The Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Museum

A great collection of equipment in a fantastic enclosed round house in Baltimore.


Minnesota Transportation Museum Inc.

The museum has several locations in the Twin Cities area including depots, a round house and a museum. They also operate an excusion train and a steam boat.


Whippany Railway Museum

A museum decicated to preserving the heritage and history of the railroads of New Jersey.


Pacific Northwest Chapter, NRHS

This is the Portland chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, dedicated to preserving Oregon's railroad heritage.


Horseshoe National Historic Landmark

Home of the Railroader's Memorial Museum and the Pennsylvania RR's famous Horseshoe Curve.


Steamtown National Historic Site

Located in Scranton, the site is operated by the National Park Service and offers museum and shop tours as well as rides on the 'Scranton Limited' excusion train.
