Welcome to the Nottingham Historical Society web site. The Village of Nottingham has a rich history as part of Euclid Township, Cuyahoga County, and the City of Cleveland.  Beginning in 1852 as Euclid Depot on the first east/west railroad, through its current status as one of Cleveland’s premier neighborhoods, the Nottingham neighborhood embraces its future while fighting to protect the memories and lessons learned from its past.

We have categorized our  information into seven main topics.

Our Railroads highlights our railroad heritage.  Explaining our name, our visits with Abraham Lincoln, and our connection to the transcontinental railroad.

Churches have impacted this community since 1820.  The history of our local churches are a resource for genealogist and local historians.

Homes  See our Millionaire‘s Row and other historic homes in our neighborhood.

Schools transform the minds of our youth and are central in providing a neighborhood’s identity.  Learn  about Nottingham School, Villa Angela Academy, and St. Joseph Seminary, Villa Angela/St. Joseph High School, O.H. Perry Elementary, and Hannah Gibbons Elementary.

Miscellaneous Buildings  Photos of unique and historic buildings are here.  See our Town Hall, Cunningham Sanitarium, and Nottingham Hospital.

Genealogy  Let us help you locate an ancestor.  We can access maps, township and church records.

Maps   Maps from 1852 through the present provide basic information and an overall view of the area.
