The Ferrymead Two Foot Railway was formed to restore locomotives and rolling stock that were obtained some years ago by Ferrymead Trust from the Dominion Salt Works at Grassmere in Marlborough. The works had a light railway that was in use during the 1950s and 60s. Since the group was formed it has obtained additional rolling stock from other locations including sugar cane railways in Fiji. The group's base is on the west side of the Ferrymead Railway's tracks in Moorhouse Village. An almost complete circuit of track has been laid that loops around the Ferrymead Trust and Coopers buildings in this area and one of the locomotives and some rolling stock has been restored to run on this line. The line is not yet open to the public.
