Carbarn #1
The
first structure complete at the new museum site is the very important
carbarn. We needed to keep our antique trolley cars out from the
Oregon "sunshine". The building took 2 years to complete and
was opened in 1999. The Front trolley doors were added in 2000. The
carbarn is complete and full of streetcars
This shows the car barn leads. To the right you can
see the poles that line the mainline. Currently all 4 barn tracks are
nearly up to the entrance of the barn.
The foundation work for the side wall of the
car barn prior to the soil being compacted.
The car barn is starting to take shape with the roof
trusses being installed. Currently the roofing panels are starting to be
set in place. (Photo by Dave Jorden 11/97)
Here is a picture of the car barn with all the trusses
up. This is the southeast corner. (4/98)

view of the barn. (8/98)
This is
the north side of the barn. Only the inner two track will come out on
this side.
This is
looking out of the barn towards the south. As you can see there will be
4 tracks entering the barn at this point. The cars are from left to
right, a caboose, 1067, 503 and 1159.
Inside the car barn, the concrete footings for track 3
was just completed. (5/99)
