PACIFIC NORTHWEST
TRACTION HISTORY

The OERHS mission statement states the OERHS is to educate. This page is dedicated to providing history of traction operations in the Pacific Northwest. This pages helps fulfill this statement. Many Northwest cities had streetcars and Interurban service. Among the cities in the NW with city streetcar service were:

Oregon: Portland, Salem, Albany, Eugene, Medford, Astoria, West Linn.
Washington: Seattle, Tacoma, Spokane, Olympia, Bellingham, Walla Walla, Yakima
Idaho: Boise
Interurbans:
There were many Interurban lines that served regional areas. Among them are The Oregon Electric, The Red Electric, Puget Sound Electric, among many others.
