Assistant Locomotive Foreman, was the official title for what everyone called the shop foreman.
"Red" was the relief man at Lambton roundhouse and he regularly turned the air as blue as his overalls!
He was typical of many of the steam-era railroaders, proud of their work and dressed to show it.
