Finch Switch Installation MP 74.53

Raymond S. Farand

The first twenty minutes of work activity are missing which I believe began shortly before 0600. Arriving at Finch about 0620 wasn't good enough to better the hired help's ambitious starting time. These guys are up and at it early!

I just want to say that the boots-on-the-ground, as well as those machine operators manning the heavy equipment that included two Deere 225D LC high-rail Railavator/excavators, a Deere 250G LC extended reach excavator and the Deere 350G LC excavator, all teamed up to move in perfect timing. Seeing those four excavators chain on to that preassembled closure/crossing panel and walk it over to its service location was really something. Everyone knew their job and when and where they had to be to do it. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to assume the role of 'Sidewalk Superintendent'.
