8839 last of a fleet of 200 GP9 units the largest on the roster until years later when the SD40-2 came along.
The final order for 15 units (8825-8839) was the first to be equipped with 26L air brake.
8839 was unique as it was the only unit built with the latest prime mover 567D 1800 HP.
