This engine was lost when on 1/23/1950 it hit a slide and went into Seton Lake killing two enginemen.

Here we see a northbound freight with 2-8-2's 58 and 160 about to leave Lillooet.
Note: Bridge restriction over the Fraser River immediately north of Lillooet yard required engines to be spaced apart.

51 and 52 were the only MLW engines built for PGE, all later ones were built by CLC.
They were the biggest power on the developing railway followed by four more powerful 2-8-0's the next year.
