Lake Erie and Detroit River

Incorporated 1885 as Lake Erie, Essex and Detroit River by Hiram Walker.
Began operating 1888. Renamed 1891 Lake Erie and Detroit River.
January 23, 1904 leased to Pere Marquette.
Pere Marquette purchased 1939 by Chesapeake and Ohio by merger and
amalgamated June 6, 1947. Name Pere Marquette continued in use.
