Northern Railway of Canada historical plaque.

GTR station circa 1922 (year of cenotaph) Built by Northern Railway of Canada 1873
(replaced original Ontario Simcoe & Huron 1855 station).

Note: A 1932 fire destroyed the tower and porticos. Photo circa 1950's.

This replica was built (opened 9/19/1998) restoring station to original size and style albeit with enclosed porticos. 2009

Last passenger train left Collingwood July 2/1960. Demolished 1997. Due to its
deteriorated condition it was decided to build a full replica based upon original one.
