Herbert

Herbert (built 1908) Acquired 1986 by Herbert Heritage Association for Herbert Railway Museum and Visitor Centre.

Overall view including 40 ft steel box car 56065 built 12/1957 partially hidden behind van.

Oxbow

The Ralph Allen Memorial Museum. 802 Railway Avenue.

Ralph Allen (1913-1966) was the son of a CPR station agent.
A writer, he was justly famous for his work at
Maclean's (1946-60) and the Toronto Star (1964-66).
There is a lot of local history, including a fire truck and a Packard car!


Unity

First named Swinburne located north of Unity.
In 1920's renamed North Unity, eventually renamed Unity.

GTP station was located right in downtown Unity from 1909.
GTP/CN Unity station has also been preserved.

Sifto salt mine long a major business it is the largest (90) employer.

Unity and District Heritage Museum. Station built 1909, acquired 1983.
Note the milk cans on baggage wagon. Once a common sight.

Transfer van CN 76655 acq. 1996. Built CN/PSC 12/1979.
