Note: All this rolling stock remains stored in New Westminster.

3716 still operates in BC on the Kettle Valley Steam Railway.


This NRHS BC Chapter trial run was a precursor to a charter February 19, 1995
with five coaches and 232 passengers from North Vancouver to Pemberton.
Other charters included two for Trains Unlimited in 1999 and 2000.

That photo was actually taken between Squamish and Pemberton. For two consecutive weekends in 1978, # 3716 did indeed double head with 2860 on the regular run to Squamish, but at Squamish the train was split into two trains and 3716 carried on to Pemberton on a charter. The first one which I think is the one on your site judging by the weather was the third weekend in August, 1978 and this trip was organized by the West Coast Railway Association. On Labour Day Weekend the NRHS held their annual convention in Vancouver and this trip was repeated as part of the convention package. I know as I was a passenger on that trip.
