Grand Trunk Western (ex-DT&I) GP38 6217 idles overnight at Fuller Jct. in Grand Rapids, Michigan in late 1987. At this time, the GTW's trip to and from Durand was a two day affair that usually terminated at Grand Rapids unless there was a sand train ready to go east from Muskegon. An overnight trip included serving the area's industries, such as the Grand Rapids Press and B&B Beverage, before heading back to Durand. Within a few weeks, this line will become the property of Cap Pinkerton and his Central Michigan Railway.
