A view looking north into the Padnos Iron & Metal Company, which is a large CSX customer in Grand Rapids. At one time, the NYC line into Grand Rapids from Kalamazoo used to run along the building in the foreground. Notice all of the rails doomed to be scrapped. The time is 1988 and one possibility is that this rail comes from the long defunct Michigan Northern line from Grand Rapids to Cadillac.
