Trains R Fun for Kids
On Saturday, May 19, 2001 the J. S. Acker Children's Festival was held at the Prescott Public
Library. This is an annual festival for children with a costume contest, clowns, youth performing
arts, family fun and exhibition booths. The Prescott Canyon Southern Garden Railroad was
invited to attend and set up a working layout for kids of all ages to experience
"Trains R Fun".
An 8x18 foot G gauge oval with 2 sidings was set up on the floor where 3 trains were able to run.
One R/C unit and 2 battery operated trains. The following images show the involvement and
fascination children and adults alike have with trains.

Fascination......
This young man just couldn't take his
eyes off the trains.
There's
something
magnetic about
trains running.
Many parents
were as
fascinated as the
children.
