Jeff's layouts, both indoors and outside, have been around since 1996. He built the outside one on Easter Monday in a snowstorm in 1997 and had trains running by Easter Tuesday, but scenery didn't really get going until 1998. The picture was taken in August of 1998 showing the overall view of the layout. |
| Coming at you! The photo was taken in June 2000. |

This is a photo of Jeff's scratchbuilt blast furnace before completion of the hot blast stove section. The Rockhill Iron & Steel Works is within the expanding East Broad Top layout in Jeff's basement. The RI &S has 80 feet of trackage and is served by 2 NW2 switchers within the mill area. The EBT supplies coke, iron ore, and limestone as well as refractory brick and sand. |
| The pike has 4 foot curves, but the RDC has no problems running on such tight curves. | |
|
The smoke unit of the RDC is awesome as it seems to last forever and puts out great volumes of smoke. |
