Railfan Pictures of the Day - 09/15/2005

CSX Trenton Line CP Berry and Red Lion Road Philadelphia PA September 14 2005

A series of overhead shots on an overcast and rainy day starts with the early morning run of Q173, led this day by CSX CW60AC 647 with CSX CW44AC 370 trailing, here approaching CP Berry. On the right in this and subsequent photographs, you can see they have dropped ties in preparation for tie replacement work on the main, while the ditcher has been doing work on the siding to the left.
Later all-trash K277 with CSX SD70ACe 4834 and CSX CW40-8 7680
Right behind K277 (you can barely see it through the fog in the picture above) was Q417 with a very clean (for a Bright Future unit) CSX C40-8 7495, one of the ten former Conrail C40-8's still active on CSX, and CSX C40-8 7627.
Even later, from the next accessible overpass south at Red Lion Road, CSX CW60AC 683 was the sole power on K651.
Following K651 in the rain was Q301 with CSX CW44AC 15 leading. Low numbered units are not common on the Trenton Line.
