Railfan Pictures of the Day - 01/10/2006

SEPTA Woodbourne Station Langhorne PA February 24 2006

Good Morning SEPTA! CSX evidently forgot that only the railroad from CP Wood EAST is cleared for high cars. This morning at around 4am, CSX ran a high car (19'10") on a westbound freight on the single main track from CP Wood to Woobourne Yard. It wound up taking down the remainder of the messenger wire that was still up over the single main train and canceled SEPTA's R3 West Trenton service north of Neshaminy until about 7:30am.

Q417 was led by ES44DC 5298 as it blocked Woodbourne Road, making for many a happy commuter. You can faintly see the messenger wire on the ground to the right.

The second car was the offender.
Looks like the flat is a Kasgro Rail Service car, unknown is the load.
SEPTA's wire train came out to finish the dewiring.
From a couple weeks ago, K207 passes under the offending wire. SEPTA is in the process of removing all wire from the CSX Trenton Line from Wood west to Newtown Junction. Perhaps CSX thought they weren't moving fast enough, and decided to lend a hand.
Q417 pulled into Woodbourne Yard and presumably left the car there.
