Railfan Pictures of the Day - 10/08/2008

Amtrak Northeast Corridor Norwood Station Norwood PA October 2 2008
Amtrak shop move approaching Norwood Station south of Philadelphia.
The consist was five former Metro North SPV-2000's. The SPV-2000 was a failed attempt in the late 1970's to replicate the success of the 1950's RDC, but due to its limited sales, the only examples working in revenue service could be found in New York, Connecticut and Morocco. One car was built for the FRA for use as track inspection car T-10 and is now owned by Caltrain. The cars were sandwiched between AMTK MP15B 574, three Amtrak gondolas and ...
AMTK former GP40TC rebuilt as GP38H-3 523.
Presumably they are heading for either Wilmington or Bear DE shops, future unknown.
