New Jersey Transit River LINE Shop Camden NJ June 5 2010

Part One of Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Line Historical Society tour of NJT River LINE shop

In the 36th Street Yard was the River LINE "Aqua Train", used to clear the rails of leaf residue during the fall foliage season.

Tank car SNJX 1005 (Southern New Jersey Rail Group is a contractor and not a railroad, hence the X on the end of the reporting marks) is used to carry the water for the pressure washer.
The pressure washer equipment is installed on flat car SNJX 1004, whose layout is quite similar to the one used by SEPTA, except SEPTA's version also dispenses Sandite gel for increased adhesion on the rails. All of the River LINE cars come with sanders, so that is not necessary.
For power the Aqua Train has Juniata Terminal Company SW1500 Class ERS-15M JTFS 9276, which is on long term lease for work train service.
The group stopped to pose along side 9276 before heading off to Haines Yard.
