30th Street Station Philadelphia PA

With the recent announcement of the proposed parking garage north of 30th Street, a prime train watching location will get a new look. The first four shots were taken from the parking lot that currently occupies the spot where the 9 story structure will be built, and feature the High Line, the service bays at Race Street and the many inhabitants of Penn Coach Yard. The blue heavyweight cars were used as offices for many years before being removed in the late 1990's. The last shot was taken from the north at Spring Garden Street, with 30th Street Station to the left of the steam generation plant and its prominant smoke stack. Some day this too will probably be gone.
