CSX Trenton Line CP Berry November 14 2003
Train chasing has become much easier the last 5 months since CSX decided to enforce the calling of signal indications on the Trenton Line at the beginning of July. After chasing the Amtrak TLM on the NEC the last couple months, the scanner has been switched back to 160.980 and eavesdropping on NI dispatcher is once again in fashion. This hour of watching was initiated by hearing K277 call "Approach at CP Nesh" and then "Stop at CP Berry". At the start of the early lunch, K276, powered by CSX 636 and a CEFX lease unit, has just taken the siding at CP Berry.
K276 on the controlled siding passes K277 on the main.
At the head end of K277 are loaded trash containers, at the tail end of K276, empties.
Right behind K276 is Q176, CSX Dark Future 578 leading another GE Widecab.
The tail end of K276 also has an intermodal look similar to that of Q176, but with a much different cargo.
Now it is K277's turn, with CSX Dark Future 562 leading FURX 3017.
And last but not least, hot on the heels of K277 is C770 with CSX 2678 shoving its train led by a Conrail caboose toward the siding at Nabisco.
